Rental Information
To rent facilities, please stop by the Arvon Phillips Community Center to see us!
The Parsons Recreation Commission has a number of facilities available for public rental. Our Gymnasium, Meeting Room, Swimming Pool, Tumbling Gymnasium and Athletic Fields are available for all your rental needs.
How do I rent one of those facilities?
It is a simple process. Reservation forms are available at the Arvon Phillips Community Center during business hours, Monday through Friday. If the facility you wish to rent is available on the requested date and time, simply fill us in on which facility you are interested in and we will assist you in booking; rental fees are due in full at the time of booking. Once rental fees and deposit (when applicable) are taken care of, the reservation is active and the facility is reserved for you and your event.
Things to remember when making a reservation.
Several of our facilities require a damage/cleaning deposit which is separate from the rental amount. To insure the return of your entire deposit, please make sure that the facility is left clean and undamaged.
All reservations must include the time needed for any set up and/or clean up. Extra charges may be incurred for time not indicated on the reservation form.
Facility Rental Rules are as follows:
Most of the lights are on motion sensor, so you don’t have to worry about turning off the lights, EXCEPT if you rent the gym; the main lights are in the janitor closet in the 3rd breaker box and are labeled. PLEASE make sure to turn off those lights when you leave
Shoes
that cause black marks are STRICTLY PROHIBITED on the gym or racquetball court
floors.
If your rental demands the use of a key, keys can be picked up by close the day before the rental; facility hours are Mon-Fri 9am-8pm and Sat 10am-4pm
You will
be responsible for cleaning up after yourself and setting up for your rental. (There
may be other rentals after yours, so please clean up well.) Cleaning
supplies are located in the janitor’s closet, next to the men’s restroom
If you
use tables and chairs, please make sure to put them back on their respective
racks. No tables or chairs can be used in
the gym without the floor mat
Your rental time HAS to include cleanup and set up time for your rental - We sometimes book rentals close together.
If you
put a key deposit down, you will be able to return the key and pick up your
deposit on the following Monday at 12pm. This will allow us to determine that
nothing was damaged and you have fulfilled your obligation
There are
surveillance cameras throughout the building that we periodically check to
verify no damage is occurring and rules are being followed during rentals
Reservations
may be booked up to 1 year in advance. NO EXCEPTIONS. A full refund will be given for cancellations
made up to two weeks before the activity date. Exceptions may be made in
emergency situations

Swimming Pool
The Parsons Recreation Commission operates Parsons Municipal Pool.
The Municipal Pool is located next to the Arvon Phillips Community Center, at 202 S. Heacock Ave. Pool depth ranges from a zero depth entry feet to 6 feet at it’s deepest. A handicap ramp is located in he zero depth entry portion of the pool and for your convenience, locker rooms are located just a few steps away. Renting the pool is also the perfect idea for your child’s birthday party.
The Municipal Pool has seen some wonderful new attractions over the past decade, which include a rock climbing wall, basketball goal and a new slide! If you get hungry don't forget to visit our concessions stand for some great choices. The pool is available to rent for family gatherings, birthday parties and social events. When can I rent the pools and what are the rates?
Municipal Pool Rates: Cover the hours of 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday.
During those hours, rates are $75 per hour. These fees include the staffing of an appropriate number of lifeguards.
Meeting Room
The Arvon Phillips Community Center has a large meeting room and kitchen available.
The Multi Purpose Room will accommodate up to 65 people in any meeting or banquet style set up. This is ideal for larger gatherings such as family dinners, meetings, parties and baby showers.
When can I rent these rooms and what are the rates?
Each room is available to rent seven days a week. Rates are set up accordingly:
Available Hours Include:
- 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 7 days a week
During those hours, rates are $25 per hour.
Rental of the Multi Purpose Room requires a deposit of $100 which is separate from the rental amount and is refunded if rental conditions are fulfilled.
Athletic Fields
The Parsons Recreation Commission has soccer, softball and baseball fields available. Each of these fields can be rented for practices, leagues and tournaments. Fields can be rented seven days a week, at any time of day, providing there are no PRC activities scheduled at that location. Any teams participating in PRC leagues are allowed to reserve fields for practices at no charge.
Soccer fields are located at Parsons High School and the number of fields available is dependent on the size needed. Fields are not lighted and there is (1) scoreboard.
Softball fields are located in several locations. Forest Park has one field which has lights and an electronic scoreboard. Winway Park has 4 lighted, baseball fields. Three more lighted, softball fields exist at Marvel Park, all with electronic scoreboards.
Softball/Baseball field rental rates:
- Deposit - $100 per facility
- Field(s) - $30 per field, per day
*This fee includes field marking and maintenance at the beginning of the tournament only.

Gymnasium
The gymnasium in the Arvon Phillips Community Center houses 1 large court, marked for basketball, volleyball and pickleball.
The gym floor is hardwood, maple and curtains can be lowered to separate each court. Each court has an electronic scoreboard and bleachers. The size of the gym lends itself to not only sports events but to dances, lock-ins and art shows. Any teams participating in PRC leagues are allowed to reserve courts for practice at no charge, during designated times.
When can I rent the Gymnasium?
The gymnasium is available to rent anytime that an PRC event or activity is not scheduled.
