Parsons Arboretum

Not only does the Parsons Arboretum feature a variety of species of trees, memorial flower gardens, and other plants, there is a wetlands project that teaches students about the wetlands ecosystem. Also at the arboretum are walking trails and a Disc Golf Course that is said to be one of the best courses in Southeast Kansas!

Circle Park

35th & Briggs

Playground equipment, shelter house, cooking grill, picnic tables, and lots of green space.

 

Clark Street Park

Between 13th & 14th on Clark

Playground, zip line, picnic table, basketball court and green space.

 

Forest Park

10th to 13th, & Broadway to Grand

6 lighted tennis courts, a 9 Hole Disc Golf course, 4 horseshoe pits, lighted basketball court, 2 sand volleyball courts, swimming pool, 4 shelter houses, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, 3 playground areas,2 lighted ball fields. Also feature Kiwanis “Pancake Special” Train (Depot located on west side of park near Kiwanis Play Park.) Cost is$0.25 per ride, runs Memorial Day and Labor Day.  For more info call, (620)421-7030.

 

 

Glenwood Park

21st Street & Southern

Playground, zip line, restrooms, lighted basketball court, shelter house, picnic tables, cooking grill. Located just across the creek from Parsons Arboretum.

 

Lopez Park

North 21st Street

Playground, zip line, picnic tables and basketball court.

 

Marvel Park

10th Street & Main

Prairie Passage native plants display, 24 Unit RV campground with electric &water hookups for $10 per night with limit of 10 nights, dump station, 3 lighted baseball, t ball & softball fields, historic stadium, Parsons Vikings Football Field, Concession area, 3 shelter houses with picnic tables, restrooms, walking trail, horseshoe pit.

 

Parsons Dog Park

800 East Main

This fenced in area provides a large grassy area for dogs to run and play off their leashes. The Parsons BARC Club has provided dog toys and agility equipment for all sizes of canine friends. There is a shelter with a picnic table, and a water hydrant within the fenced area. Dog park rules are posted at the gate.

 

Prairie West

Fishing pond, ducks & geese, shelter house, picnic tables, grill, & playground equipment.

 

PKY Skate Park

Bank Ramp, grind ledge, jump box, grind rails, & quarter pipe.

 

Railroad Park

North 26th Street

Basketball court, playground, playground, MKT caboose, & picnic tables. The MKT Caboose is scheduled to be relocated to Forest Park as a memorial to the Gandy Dancers who helped carve rail history.

 

Tolen Creek Park

North Hwy. 59/ East Cattle Drive

Stone house, working windmill historic replica rock wall, nearly 1.5 miles of walking and bike trails, fishing pond. Host to Balloons, Bikes Blues & Barbeque, the Kid’s Fishing Derby, and the Farm Heritage Celebration.

 

Watson Park

West of Central on Crawford

Lighted basketball court, picnic tables, & cooking grills.

 

Winway Park

Southwest of 10th & Southern

3 lighted & 1 unlighted ball fields, bleachers, restrooms, concessions, playground, shelter, picnic tables, and cooking grill.

 

Parsons Katy Golf Course

22nd & North Boulevard

The Katy Golf Course is a 9 hole public course that includes a Clubhouse and one of the best kept secrets in Parsons, the Katy Grill.

There are membership fees and green fees, however the Clubhouse Grill is open to public.
